Graphic Design

(by Peter Bohenek, President)

Graphic Design is a service we provide to almost each and every client. We do this because our business is all about the creation of sight-based visual experiences. Whether the project is a website, an HTML email, a CD/DVD presentation, a video, or a logo, graphic design is a key component of each.

To be clear, in terms of what graphic design is, let’s take a look at the definition from Wikipedia: The term graphic design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.

As you realize after reading the definition graphic design, it is a process where the end result must capture the attention of viewers and engage them with the purpose of communicating. Regardless as to what is to be communicated, the intent is to communicate using images, colors, words, symbols, and various other elements. To be successful, a great deal of discovery and planning must take place to effectively understand what is to be communicated and how to best to get the point across. This is often times not easy to do.

Organizing thoughts into achievable business goals, which must be visually communicated with an objective of eliciting an intended response, is both art and science. The science aspect is the planning and discovery. The more facts we can learn about the target audience, the better we can create a communication strategy. The more concrete the strategy, the better the direction the graphic artist will have when creating the visual representation of that strategy. When proper discovery, planning, and a strong strategy are formulated and translated into eye grabbing visuals, the intended results are usually achieved. Based on my experience, when the perfect storm of these factors comes together, there is a 75 percent chance for a significant degree of success. That’s an odds bet worth playing.

At Rhythm Interactive, we put the time and effort into each and every client project to make sure that the odds are stacked in the client’s corner. It is our dedication and passion toward human-centered design that drives us. In doing so, we look at every design challenge as an opportunity to create an immersive brand experience that achieves your business goals and exceeds your users’ expectations to the point of delight!
