ALEKS is a company that specializes in a proprietary approach to student assessment learning utilizing a process known as adaptive questioning.
Through adaptive questioning, ALEKS accurately assesses a student’s knowledge state and then delivers targeted instruction on the topics a student is most ready to learn.
As a student works through a course, ALEKS periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained. ALEKS courses are very complete in their topic coverage, and ALEKS avoids multiple-choice questions. A student who shows a high level of mastery of an ALEKS course will be successful in the actual course he/she is taking.

ALEKS came to Rhythm Interactive with a desire to implement an email marketing program that ALEKS could leverage to increase customer awareness and could use to share success stories with instructors. To do this ALEKS specifically requested Rhythm Interactive’s email marketing solution: RhythmMail.
ALEKS was already familiar with RhythmMail, as one of their key team members had previously used the system while working at the IMPAC COMPANIES. This individual purposefully selected RhythmMail, as the results produced at IMPAC were significant. Furthermore, the self administration capability of RhythmMail mixed with powerful tools such as list management, campaign tracking, dynamic content, private label capabilities, document and image libraries were exactly what ALEKS needed to support their email communication program.
The Rhythm Interactive Email Team met with ALEKS to discuss the particulars of their intended usage. Rhythm then worked to set up the system to enable ALEKS to easily begin deploying email.
ALEKS took advantage of the template features of RhythmMail, building their own HTML emails. ALEKS was also able to perform their own list import and associated list management tasks. Ultimately ALEKS was able to use RhythmMail as a turnkey solution. This enabled ALEKS to immediately begin a company email program. In addition, ALEKS signed up with SalesForce.com to help manage their sales activity. This opened the door to create additional efficiencies and control by integrating RhythmMail with SalesForce.com. Now, ALEKS is able to utilize the power of RhythmMail and the capabilities of SalesForce to deliver branded sales messages with maximum control and flexibility. Both applications “talk” to each other over the Internet, exchanging data, templates and tracking info on single and mass email sends.
To date ALEKS has successfully deployed HTML emails as needed over the last two years. The email program has helped ALEKS build brand awareness and has aided in keeping constant communication with instructors that use the ALEKS method.
