Industry Update From the Ad-Tech Show

(by Craig Cooke, CEO)

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the Ad-Tech conference in San Francisco. Unfortunately, I could not stay for the entire show due to travel commitments for a new client. However, in just the one day I was able to attend, I walked away with a resurgence of excitement and passion for the state of our industry. I have written in the past about the upcoming growth stage for communication technology, but now I can say it is here–we are on fire!

The show has grown to five times its size from earlier in the decade and new technology solutions were plentiful on the tradeshow floor. This level of innovation hasn’t been seen since the beginning of the 90’s Internet boom. New solutions and service companies have sprung up around new trends in mobile marketing, social networking, blogs, multimedia communications, search, and online marketing. Veteran companies were plentiful as well and doing quite well. Double-Click had a sizable presence, and it was apparent from the smiling faces of their staff that they were ecstatic about the announcement by Google (also in attendance) to acquire their company for $3.1 billion in cash.

Here is my list for the hottest trends to watch for:

  • Growth of online advertising networks
  • Content syndication
  • Mobile marketing
  • Social networks
  • New services built around blogs, vlogs, podcasting and instant messaging
  • Innovative services built around search marketing

It’s an exciting time, and I’m eager to extend these new solutions to customers. Watch for future announcements and of course, feel free to inquire about any of the new technologies and solutions mentioned earlier.
