Ecommerce Development
Rhythm Interactive offers full service support for ecommerce. Rhythm Interactive has been in business since 1996. The first website we built was an ecommerce website that was an online music store, where local unsigned bands could sell their music. The site is still up at www.rhythmnet.com. Since that time, we have developed many ecommerce websites that sell various types of products, ranging from wedding albums to network cables and everything in between.
Over the course of the last several years, we have refined our ecommerce skills to the degree that we can design and develop stores with basic ecommerce functions and stores that require custom functions. The process that we follow involves initial planning stages, where we work closely with the client to understand their product catalog, target market and their marketing plan. Then we develop an outline that reflects the navigational system of the website. This document is accompanied by the Information Architecture (IA) of the website. The IA is a detailed plan of each page, including the shopping cart system through check out. Both of these documents are carefully reviewed with the client and revised as needed. Once they are finalized, the actual development of the ecommerce website begins.
The development process ranges in terms of time to complete the website, as it depends on the nature of the products and the website functions. Some stores that we build are quite typical, allowing the use of existing store shells that can be easily modified to accommodate the store. Some stores require custom programming, which usually means that we are developing from scratch. This can push out the development timeline from 8 weeks to 16 weeks or more depending on the complexity of the custom functions.
Each store that we build, whether custom or standard, is equipped with a back-end system that the client uses to update the store and to receive detailed reports about store usage. The back-end system to a site is password protected and accessible 24/7. Through the back-end, clients can upload new products, images and pricing. They can also edit existing product information, with the ability to deactivate products when they are discontinued. Clients also have the ability to produce reports that show product sales for individual customers and on an aggregate basis. Other information such as most popular products and least popular products is also available. The back-end system provides clients with a hugh amount of data that is necessary to properly manage their store.
Clients have had success with stores developed by Rhythm Interactive. The stores that we create are reliable, as they are tested from top to bottom to ensure proper function before they go live. After the development and launch of a store, Rhythm Interactive offers each client a full array of marketing weapons such as search engine optimization, email marketing, pay-per-click and other forms of Internet advertising as well. Great stores become great when the store works properly and when good marketing efforts drive traffic to the store. Rhythm Interactive has the tools and the expertise to assist with both!
