National Mortgage Network

National Mortgage Network (NMN) was selected as client of the month as they have successfully utilized CD-based technology for advertising/marketing purposes. Although not truly an online play, they did use disc-based marketing as an extension of an online system that differentiated them from their competition while dramatically increasing sales.

NMN is a successful mortgage company in Laguna Hills, California. They recently began to use a disc-based marketing presentation, which they send to prospects that have qualifying credit. At the qualifying stage of the game, prospects are shopping three, sometimes four mortgage companies, looking for the best rate. Most of the looking happens online where the closest a prospect comes to meeting National Mortgage Network is over the phone – not a huge opportunity for the personal touch. That is where the CD comes into play.

At the qualifying stage, NMN immediately sends the prospect a CD. The CD contains a personal introduction to NMN given by the CEO, Louis Reda. He explains the benefits of doing business with NMN and why prospects should select NMN for their borrowing needs.

After the introduction, the prospect is taken through an animated tour that further introduces them to NMN and leads them to an interactive menu screen that provides the prospect with helpful information such as the steps involved in the lending process, tips and suggestions, and a loan calculator.

The bottom-line is that after watching the presentation, prospects know NMN and have seen and heard the CEO of the company tell them how committed NMN is to assisting them.

At this point the prospect is wowed, and since no other mortgage company is sending a CD, NMN earns a new customer. The end result after running the marketing campaign for six months has been a 15% increase in closed loans!

Disc-based advertising/marketing is effective and can easily be coupled with an online presence. The beauty of the CD is its tangibility, which creates the personal touch that companies need to beat the competition.
