State of Connecticut Tourism Department

(by Craig Cooke, CEO)

Rhythm Interactive is proud to present our first Client of the Month, the State of Connecticut Tourism Department. This government agency is responsible for promoting tourism and attracting visitors to the state. Through tourism, businesses within the state generate additional income and, in turn, increase tax revenues for the state itself.

Rhythm Interactive helped the Tourism Department in achieving its objectives by administering their online sweepstakes campaign. Two sweepstakes were held, the Summer Sweeps and the Fall Foliage Sweeps. Both programs utilized multiple interactive channels for attracting participants, and various prizes were given to selected winners.

The challenge was to optimize the utilization of permission email lists, ad networks, web-publishers and house lists. Previously, data was gathered and intelligence was formed slowly due to technical constraints. Rhythm Interactive provided two solutions, RhythmMail and RhythmTracker to improve upon this task.

RhythmMail delivered the direct response emails and tracked performance such as open and click-through rates. In addition the system automated the unsubscribe and viral marketing functions. RhythmTracker monitored the performance of emails including those delivered via third parties, banners placed on Connecticut web properties and banners placed through various third party networks. The performance was tracked all the way to conversion (a sweepstakes participant registration) and allowed for immediate intelligence as to what variables were working and which were not. The Tourism Department optimized the campaign, which enabled them to exceed all of their quantifiable goals.
