Director of Technology

South Orange County, CA based interactive marketing agency is looking for an exceptionally talented person with to fill a Director of Technology position. Candidates must have 10+ years of deep interactive development/production experience with proven expertise and a portfolio of impressive work. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, build and manage the development team in executing assignments
- Determine the proper technical approach for projects
- Collaborate with the Strategy and Design departments
- Perform application development work as needed
- Direct the strategic design, acquisition, implementation and management of our technology infrastructure
- Contribute to design plans by documenting the technology approach for projects
- Produce leading technical solutions that advance the quality of our work and reputation
- Present to both internal and external audiences to help educate, inspire and provide thought leadership on interactive technologies
- Attend client and prospect meetings to discuss technical aspects of any given project
- Manage external development contractors in executing projects
Any of the following skills and/or experience are considered a plus but not required:
- Familiarity with Rich Internet Application technology (Adobe Flash/Air/Flex/AS 3)
- Working knowledge of mobile app and mobile web development
- 5+ years of digital agency experience
- 3+ years management experience
To qualify for this position, you need to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field of study, strong programming skills, an understanding of usability for the web, and possess expert level skills with .Net, MS SQL, PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You also need to possess an understanding of current and emerging platforms along with their strengths and weaknesses. You must have experience architecting high-level technical solutions with the ability to manage the execution to completion. You need to be able to generate standards-compliant, semantically rich code that separates content from design. You must have a thorough understanding of cross browser issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You must be extremely organized, dependable and have experience juggling multiple tasks/projects to be successful in this position.
